Sarah Records, one of the best indie record label of all time, finally gets a documentary directed by Lucy Dawkins. The documentary entitled My Secret World: The Story Of Sarah Records tells the story of the label and features co-founders Clare Wadd and Matt Haynes, as well as many of the Sarah Records acts over the years. The label's idea was simple; release 100 perfect pop singles. Easier said that done, mind. Between 1987 and 1995, Sarah Records released mostly 7" titles but also became popular for their LP releases, fanzines and compilations. The story ended in 1995 with the last ever Sarah Record release There And Back Again Lane. The documentary is to be shown at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Sunday 26 April in association with Monorail Music, followed by a Q&A with co-founders Clare Wadd and Matt Haynes. Perfect for a Sunday night!
