The BBC 6 Music Festival kicks off in Newcastle this weekend and with an abundance of talent on show, Third Outing reveals the perfect line-up for your weekend. You know how it goes. You arrive at the festival and find out what time each artist is playing, make your schedule, then run around like a lunatic trying to see them all. Not this year. Following last years successful inaugural event in Manchester, 6 Music Festival is back bigger and better with over 40 artists across 6 stages on 3 nights. Here is our 6 Music Festival must sees:
Craig Charles: Dance well into Sunday morning with Craig Charles and his Funk and Soul DJ set. The best Saturday night DJ set Newcastle will ever see.
The Cribs: A Third Outing favourite and touring new material for the up and coming release of 'For All My Sisters', the Jarman's will no doubt be at full capacity.
DJ Yoda: The master of 'How to Cut and Paste' and pioneer of the video DJ set returns to Newcastle for another episode of video DJ mastery.
Django Django: Fresh from an intimate warm-up gig in the Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh, and with new material following their hugely successful eponymous debut, Django Django are deserved headliners of this year's festival.
The Fall: The kings of post-punk are back and Mark E Smith is sure to captivate what is certain to be a rowdy northern crowd.
Father John Misty: Forget Fleet Foxes and follow the Father through a rock and roll adventure which includes old classics such as 'Hollywood Cemetery Forever' as well as new tracks from the up and coming 'I Love You, Honeybear' record. Also playing Glasgow on Monday 23rd of February.
Gruff Rhys: The Super Fury Animals front man returns for another solo project with 'American Interior' and is sure to bring some of his Welsh rock and roll magic to the party. Warming up on 18th of February at The Caves, Edinburgh.
Jamie T: After huge success with his latest and more mature record 'Carry on the Grudge' Jamie T brings his bass guitar to Newcastle for what is sure to be a sell-out-shut-the-doors-venue.
Simian Mobile Disco: The electro outfit give up a busy schedule of producing and remixing to return to the main stage for what is sure to be one of the highlights of the weekend.
