The Interview you won't read anywhere else
By Robin Ecoeur
Pale faces, the chavvy look and the oversized 90's outfits. Australian sensations DMA'S have released their highly acclaimed début record Hills End via Mom + Pop Music. The good news is that Oz heroes have made the long trip over the ocean and are touring Europe as we speak...so we caught up with front man Tommy O'Dell for an interview you won't read anywhere else!
Tommy O'Dell do you have a favourite Adidas jacket? Seriously where do you get your clothes from?
Where do I get my clothes? I dunno, usually thrift shops and places like that. I don't have that much coin so I try get good gear for cheap. ADIDAS occasionally give us free shit. I just got a sick new leather jacket made when I was travelling in Asia too.
Too Soon or Lay Down are the kind of songs that should be on the next FIFA. How do you respond?
Yeah that would be sick. They have great playlists. I think the first one I got, the theme song was Rockafeller Skank by Fat Boy Slim.
A lot of people are comparing you to 90's Brit Pop bands. Which one is the most offensive and why?
Good question. I think I cringe when I hear Shed Seven. Oh, and some knob said we were not as good as an Oasis cover band he saw. That was heavy, then I told him to lose some weight.
We've seen a picture of you on stage giving the finger; what was happening when the picture was taken?
I saw my best mate in the crowd giving me the finger. I couldn't help it …
Thanks Tommy it's been a pleasure. Last one, an old Third Outing classic, what's your desert island drink?
Yeah cheers, these questions have been a laugh. Umm, a bottle of Stolichnaya …
