As I'll say; all roads in Scotland lead to The Barrowlands, especially if you're ultimately to become a truly 'Known Mortal Orchestra'. But tonight at QMU the student crowd is lively and mixes with the rest. Hidden in back pockets and handbags is the wee half bottle of Buckie, evidence of naughtiness which will do no harm when administered to a rather good, fun crowd! In fact, after one gigantic swig the crowd surfers shoot over the top of heads and thankfully the bouncers understand the vibrant atmosphere, and don't chuck them out!
I tend to rate a band on if they made me bounce. These guys were dance-y, lively, and technically very strong. Indeed, I look forward to more from them after this extensive period of touring. It can and will only make for a band that are creating a great presence in the world of alternative music. The world is crowded, but there's plenty of room for a band like this ! Glasgow will welcome a return next year. To The Barrowlands? Probably aye!
